February Events Chase Winter Blues
Forget the rumors about the sidewalks rolling up at night during an Outer Banks winter—there’s something for every entertainment taste this month, and a lot of it.
The Dare County Arts Council (DCAC) has two exhibits in February. The 39th Annual Frank Stick Memorial Art Show will be on display at the DCAC Gallery through the 25th. This is one art show not to miss, bringing some of the most innovative Outer Banks artists together.
The DCAC’s First Friday reception in downtown Manteo also kicks off the College of the Albemarle’s Jewelry Show. The talent of the students and their creativity is absolutely fantastic.
After Dark at All Saints in Southern Shores is another program that has something for everyone. It’s a monthlong chance to learn a little bit about almost anything. Evening courses include cooking classes from area gourmet chefs, art classes, wine and beer tastings and more.
For the theater crowd: Check out the Theatre of Dare’s production of Spamalot. Go prepared to laugh.
And of course there’s music. Though there’s too many talented musicians performing at various venues to list them here, those of you in search of some great tunes will have no trouble finding a live performance virtually any night this month.
In short, there’s no reason to sit around moping about having nothing to do in the winter on the Outer Banks. Check out our list, find something to your liking and get out there and enjoy life.
