Brindley Beach Buys Wright Property Management
By Kip Tabb –

The Wright Property Management offices in Kitty Hawk will now be the Brindley Beach Vacations offices for Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk.
With the acquisition of Wright Property Management in Kitty Hawk by Brindley Beach Vacations, the recent trend of larger Outer Banks property management firms purchasing smaller companies continues.
First opening its doors in 1984 as a property management firm, WPM was one of the first Outer Banks companies to focus exclusively on property management. Created when partners Jerry Wright and Otis Culpepper sold the vacation rental business of a real estate firm they had founded with John Tice to Tice, WPM has remained a family run business for the past 30 years.
As the owners of John’s Drive-in in Kitty Hawk, the Tice family was already involved in the Outer Banks business community. The family still manages the Beach Road icon of summer burgers and shakes today.
Now managed by sisters Tina and Romona Tice, John’s daughters, WPM was never one of the larger property management firms on the Outer Banks. Unlike many of the larger property management companies, the firm maintained a large inventory of 2-4 bedroom homes designed for single family use.
The purchase of WPM strengthens the position of Brindley Beach in the mid beaches—Kitty Hawk to Nags Head. Already one of the largest property management firms from Southern Shores north to Corolla, with the addition of the WPM properties, Brindley Beach has over 600 vacation rentals available.
The decision to sell the company to Brindley Beach seems to have been amicable, and according to Doug Brindley, owner of Brindley Beach, it was a business transaction where all parties benefited.
“We believe it is important to keep the company moving forward to create opportunities for employees, owners and guests alike,” he said. “When the Tice sisters asked us to help them retire and buy Wright Property Management, we knew this was a good match for Brindley Beach. We have been looking for the best way to work in the middle beaches for a while, and now it fell in our laps.”
With the purchase of WPM, Brindley Beach will be closing their Kill Devil Hills office and moving their sales and property management operations to the Kitty Hawk location at 3719 North Croatan Highway.
